Blinn livestock judging team places fifth at Denver contest
Grant Kubala places seventh at National Western Stock Show Carload Contest

Blinn College’s livestock judging team placed fifth at the recent National Western Stock Show (NWSS) Carload Contest in Denver, Colo.
Grant Kubala placed seventh among individual competitors, tying for first in questions and finishing 15th in placings. As a team, Blinn was fifth in placings and sixth in questions.
Blinn also placed 11th as a team in the NWSS Collegiate Livestock Judging Contest.
Blinn was fifth in swine, sixth in reasons, eighth in cattle reasons, 14th in cattle and sheep/goats, 18th in goats, and 19th in feedlot cattle.
Individually, Lane Hogan was 14th overall, including fourth in cattle reasons, eighth in reasons, 10th in cattle and swine, and 18th in feedlot cattle.
Owen Seidenberger was first in swine and 13th in reasons, and Kubala placed 19th in goats.
Blinn is sixth overall in junior college rankings by Livestockjudging.com for the 2024-25 season, with a 1.284 rating.
Livestock judging is part of Blinn’s Agricultural Sciences Program, which has one of the most active extracurricular programs in the state, including the Agriculture Club, wildlife, agriculture mechanics, and horticulture.
Blinn offers agriculture classes on all its campuses, with the W.J. “Bill” Rankin Agricultural Complex on the Brenham Campus serving as the program’s headquarters.
