The Blinn College-Schulenburg Campus will host a “Xeriscape, Nativescape, and Lawns” class to teach participants how to create a low-maintenance, pest-resistant, and disease-free landscape.
The course will be held Tuesdays from March 25 through April 8 from 6-8 p.m. in Room 121. The cost is $45.
David E. Will, an experienced instructor with more than 35 years of experience teaching continuing education and Master Gardener classes, will lead the course. He holds a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree in agriculture from Sam Houston State University. Will also brings real-world expertise, having served as grounds manager for The Houstonian Hotel, Club & Spa, and Six Flags Fiesta Texas Park.
Students will learn to use xeriscape and native plant landscaping to improve the beauty of their yards while attracting birds and butterflies.
“This course will show that lawns don’t need to be a pain to maintain,” said Dr. Becky Garlick, Executive Dean of the Blinn-Schulenburg Campus. “Easy lawn care is made possible with a few simple steps.”
